The Norse god of strength, thunder, war and storms?! But this Thor's story is just a little bit different to his name-sake's story! Read on for THE TALE OF THIS MODERN DAY THOR...
His STRENGTH lies in his ability to enjoy life and lead walking when he is under the firm guidance of his human/s. If you lead the way, he will follow your lead with the tenacity of a pup who HAD been living a life of confusion and anxiety, and now wants out! In his foster home, he enjoys life with multiple, well-trained companion canines and loves life!
THUNDER... but no need to duck for cover here. THOR's thunderous [read HAPPY!] paw-steps are heard through the house as he's playing games of chasey, zoomies and body rolls with his foster fur siblings. His current humans are AMAZED at the progress this little guy has made with training, firm boundaries and slow introduction to other canines, balanced with free-range play time. He has a busy mind and body, and with the right direction and generous praise (something he was without for a while) his whole body, not only his tail, swings with delight and happiness!
Thor's not so settling WAR can come to the foreground when this beautiful boy is not led with determination. He can be at war within himself if you leave the decisions to him. Like ALL canines living in our human confines, Thor needs his humans to give him direction... humans that have firm boundaries in place for all humans and animals in his household. This keeps Thor feeling safe.
Think of a STORM. Blustery, cold, wet, dank, shivering. Well, THIS Thor came from that - emotionally, if not physically. However, he's come THROUGH his storm to the other side with clear sky. To the sunshine, the tail wags, the smiles, the wanting to be close to humans and canine fur siblings... all because of direction and boundaries. He is a WONDERFUL pup at 2.5 years of age. However, he needs the 'clear sky' of humans who will continue to set him, AND his household companions (2 legged and 4 legged), boundaries. His 'clear day' interaction includes the commands of 'sit', 'stay', 'wait', 'come', 'back', 'enough', and quiet 'mat time'... and from being scared of enclosed spaces, he has mastered open-crate training.
Do you need THIS dog of STRENGTH in YOUR life?
