Louie - Currently on a two week trial

Louie has working dog instincts of herding but not to the point of doing it all the time. This boy lives to please and love. He is in short a Kelpie Love God – he thinks that is his job. He flits around dishing out the love all over the house so everyone gets to share in his joy. He can easily be with another dog for a companion but they will need to be a player as Louie loves a good run and rumble.
Louie is the cleverest of all boys and will respond to training with either love or treats as his reward. And speaking of love, Louie has it in droves, he will snuggle with you for as long as you want. A great watch dog, he will alert you to people in your yard or coming to the door. Louie is house trained so he can easily join in on family time.
Dog parks are fine, Louie will herd everyone and play, run, love everyone and just hang, he has excellent recall to him name and the offer of a cuddle gets him running to his lead every time. Travelling in the car is a dream for him, he is a road trip lover, sits up and takes it all in, a great little back seat driver. Time spent training with Louie now, will see you enjoying many more years of the best possible little companion.
There are several potential types of owners who Louie would be suitable for but any future owner should have some knowledge of working dogs and their peculiarities/characteristics. Retirees or Seniors looking for a companion who can help by acting as a guard dog. Joggers or runners who want a running partner and have another dog who can no longer run but can be a play friend to Louie. His prospects are not limited to just these groups, families with children who want a mate to play with but I would suggest children older that toddler age are best suited.
