Dakota DB412

Meet Dakota!

Dakota is an absolute sweetheart - she is the best snuggler and loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch. She is energetic, intelligent and loving. Dakota loves people and other dogs and she always gets a lot of attention while she is out and about.

As she is inquisitive and full of beans she needs daily exercise and stimulation or she can start making her own fun. She is fine being left home during the day with her doggie friend after a nice walk. She generally walks well on the lead but she can pull when trying to greet dogs and people passing on the street or making a bee-line for home.

Although she is deaf, she is very clever and eager to please which has made training fairly easy. She has been quick to pick up some hand signals such as Come, Down, Sit, No and Please. She loves being with her people so much that she taught herself to open the back door from both sides using the handle! She can be determined at times and has not had many experiences in her former life so she needs firm but kind guidance. As Dakota is a big puppy she will need boundaries, enrichment and ongoing training to keep her occupied and happy.

She loves to go in the car, usually trying to steal a front seat to curl up on and has been on a few long road trips where she was perfect the whole way. She has met children and babies but as she still tends to jump up when excited so she be a bit too rough for young kids.

Dakota is currently living with full-time workers and a playful male dog and a dog savvy cat. She would only be suited to living with a cat that stands their ground as she can try to play with them. She would be best suited to an active family with a playful dog, who will treat her like a member of the family. She will reward you with her total devotion.

Dakota could live as an only dog if her humans are home with her for most of the day or with another playful, submissive dog (humans can work full time if she has doggie company!).
