AC0713 - Poseidon

G'day, Poseidon here! I got my name because when all the other cats were snuggled up inside I was waiting outside in the rain for a meal. I was living a hard life, until the Angels rescued me. At first, it was thought I had lymphoma and would be here for a limited time...... but……. I showed them all, I was just a bit worse for wear from my street life!! I’ve spent a good few months in foster care, being looked after by my foster mum who has given me good quality food, and lots of love and attention so I’m looking like the happy, healthy cat I am!

I have had most of my teeth removed, but don't let that scare you, I can still chat and chat and chat some more. I also love food, feed me and we are best buddies forever. I will have issues with gingivitis with my remaining teeth (inflammation of the gums) but it is definitely manageable and I hope it doesn't stop me from finding a loving home.

After all my time on the streets, I have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Whilst having FIV means you have to make sure we all get along, I’ve never been aggressive to other cats and I’m a social boy, so with slow introductions I’m sure that other cats will get on with me really well too! I love kids, and the dogs I have met are a little scared of me... but I am sure we could find a way to be friends with time.

Anyways, I am hoping to find a special family that loves a smoochy, chatty boy and will finally give me a forever home.

xoxo Poseidon

Medical Notes: Poseidon has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can affect his immune system, however, he can still potentially live a long healthy life. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Due to his FIV, Poseidon will need to be an inside only cat. If you have other cats it is recommended that they are vaccinated against FIV and that you use precaution when introducing them to ensure that they get along without fighting. Poseidon also has Gingivitis, which is inflammation of the gums. This condition may require treatment on and off throughout his life. Poseidon will need his remaining teeth checked at his annual vaccination. He may need treatment in between these times (of steroids and/or antibiotics) if the condition worsens. Poseidon has had some teeth extracted and he may need more extracted in the future.
