132 – Notre Dame

Take home a piece of Paris with your very own Notre Dame

Hi there, I’m Notre Dame, but you can call me Notre. I didn’t have the best start to life, I’ve spent most of it on the streets, hiding from the world, fending for myself and raising my kittens. Then, one day I found myself somewhere new. An angel rescued me and my kittens and we suddenly had this thing called a “home”. I was pretty scared at first, protective of my babies, this wasn’t the life I knew, but, I soon learnt that living around humans isn’t really so bad. We had a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and they even gave me my own special toilet! No more hiding behind bushes for me! Still, humans scared me. My babies grew up and soon found their own homes, but I’m still here, waiting for mine.

You see, I’m still a little timid, things still scare me, but I’m working on it and have improved a lot – at least, that’s what my carer says. I can still be a bit grumpy and try to make myself seem braver than I am by hissing at her sometimes, just to remind her that I’m still boss… though, it’s mostly just noise and my ego getting in the way. Mostly, I just find myself a nice hiding spot, away from noise and curl up to sleep the day away. Whilst I don’t like people getting too close just yet, my human likes to wrap me up in this thing she calls a “purrito” and then she scratches my cheeks and head, and I kind of just… melt. I try to pretend I’m still grumpy and resent the affection she’s showing me, but my soft purrs give me away sometimes. She says I have a lot of potential, I just need someone that is patient and willing to work on building my trust.

I currently live with other cats and I love their company, they make me feel safe and loved and help teach me to trust humans. I would really like to live in a quiet home with a feline friend or two, someone I can snuggle up with and follow around.

I really am a sweet girl, I’m just scared and shy, but I’m learning to come out of my shell and my carer has even caught me playing more often. Oh, I also love to steal cotton tips and hair ties, they’re great fun to throw around! I love any toy I can bat around with my paws and enjoy curling up in the sun in a window or in the safety of my cat run. I’m not at all fussy with food, I’ll eat anything you give me and I’m great with my litter too. As you can see, I have quite a long coat which can get matted, especially on my chest and belly, so I will need to be brushed regularly and might benefit from a bit of a haircut too.

So, what do you say? Do you think you could take a chance on me and help me continue to grow? I’m really not any trouble. I mostly keep to myself and stay out of everyone’s way. I might give you a little hiss now and then, but really, I’m just reminding you of your place as my servant and food bringer.

So, let me help further your education and teach you something new, you can even tell your friends that you’ve seen Notre Dame without having to leave the comfort of your home! All you need to do is contact the Angels and they’ll organise our rendezvous – no passport required! Au revoir!
