1091 - Umbra

Hello there, I’m Umbra. I was the last one to join Alika, Pixie and Speck at my foster home. They went straight in the trap, but I was a bit more careful. Eventually I gave in as the food just smelled so tasty. I am still learning to trust humans. I used to hiss and try to make them go away but they just kept coming back and bringing me yummy food. Now I even let them touch me sometimes, but I always watch them carefully and can’t quite relax yet.

Playing is so much fun though and I love it when my foster parents play with me. Another thing that helps me forget how scary humans can be is food. If you have something nice smelling on your fingers I will make sure that I lick it all clean.

I like to clean the other cats too and sometimes I forget to put my tongue back in my mouth! I am not sure why but my foster mum thinks I am really cute when I look at her with my big round eyes and pink tongue sticking out. I am just making sure everyone stays clean.

I used to be on my own a bit more when I first came in from the streets, but now I really like the company of my cat friends. I especially like it when we all lay on top of each other in a big heap. I'd love to find a home with Alika or another kitty friend so I am not lonely when you're not home.

My foster mum thinks it would help me to feel a bit less scared too. I am not too sure about dogs, but I heard one bark outside once and it sounded really interesting so I ran up to the window to go see what was happening.

I was hesitant to put my name forward for a forever home, but my foster mum believes that there might be a special someone out there for me who has a quiet home, a big heart and the patience to help me trust them.
